October Food Sharing Monthly Report - Volunteers are in urgent need! Looking forward to your joining

As the number of recycling shops increases, we need more volunteers to join in! The weather is getting colder, join us in sending love and enough food to feed more families and people in need!

In October, volunteers conducted food recovery and sharing actions in ten areas: Tai Wai, Ma On Shan, Fo Tan, Tai Po, Fanling, Tseung Kwan O, Yuen Long, To Kwa Wan, Hung Hom, and Causeway Bay. They collected a total of 6,978 pieces of bread and 180 meal boxes, weighing 934.23 kg, benefiting 5,616 individuals.



Results by Area:

Tai Wai: Collected 1,657 pieces of bread (188.47 kg), shared with 1,373 individuals including cleaners and scavengers.

Ma On Shan: Collected 2,460 pieces of bread (246 kg), shared with 2,724 individuals including cleaners and local residents.

Fo Tan: Collected 587 pieces of bread (58.70 kg), shared with 303 individuals.

Tai Po: Collected 1,094 pieces of bread (152.53 kg), shared with 519 individuals including cleaners and homeless people.

Fanling: Collected 258 pieces of bread (27.37 kg), shared with 172 individuals including cleaners and security personnel.

Tseung Kwan O: Collected 253 pieces of bread (32.89 kg), shared with 134 individuals including elderly living alone and cleaners.

Yuen Long: Collected 157 pieces of bread (23.55 kg), shared with 79 individuals including cleaners and homeless people.

To Kwa Wan: Collected 169 sandwiches (included in the bread count) weighing 32.57 kg; also collected 121 pieces of bread (11.7 kg), benefiting 80 individuals.

Hung Hom: Received 97 meal boxes (92.98 kg) and collected 19 pieces of bread (1.66 kg), benefiting 100 individuals.

Causeway Bay: Received 83 meal boxes (46.48 kg) and collected 203 pieces of bread (19.33 kg), benefiting 132 individuals, including homeless people and cleaners.
